Adding a touch of Halloween to your wedding
Halloween is just a few days away. If you are having a wedding over Halloween weekend and are looking for some last minute Halloween details to add a little bit of spookiness to your day, look no further.
* Forget the typical wedding cake toppers, place two creepy, spooky creatures on your cake.
* Want to give your table a little bit of flair? Add gourds and sprinkle fake spiders, bats and ghosts around the tables.
* Add a ghost to your bouquet or pin in your hair.
* Let the guests go trick-or-treating during your party. You can leave a bowl of candy out during cocktail hour, put it on tables during dinner or have it out for guests to take on their way out.
* Ask the DJ to play some Halloween-themed music, ie: Thriller, The Monster Mash, The Time Warp & Ghost Town just to give you a few ideas.
* See if the DJ and any other wedding vendors (Wedding Planner, Photographer, Caters) will dress in costume.
* Carve out a couple jack-o-lanterns and place them sporadically around the function hall. If you are feeling creative, carve out words like I love you, or pictures of you and your sweetheart.
* Add some orange accessories to your assemble with a necklace, bracelet or earrings.
* Candles are a must- place them around the ceremony, cocktail hour and on the tables.
* Print out a short creepy haunted story and leave them on the tables for the guests to read. It will put them in the Halloween mood.
* Hang some floating ghosts, gravestones and ‘Caution Haunted’ signs around the room.

Happy Halloween!

We’re Featured on La Belle Bride!
It was great to see some of our work featured on La Belle Bride on Monday afternoon. This inspirational photo shoot was a lot of fun to bring together – from custom paper details to the “Love at first bite” cupcakes, it has an elegant vintage look that we truly enjoy.

Inspiration sneak peak
This weekend we brought to life the European Elegance inspiration board from one of our previous posts. Thanks to the fabulous Tyra Bleek we have a sneak peak into what we created, so stay tuned to for more photos and details.

A special thanks to Joseph of Gondola di Venezia, Boston’s only gondola tours. It was not only a fun way to spend part of the afternoon, but it is a romantic experience. As it turns out the couple on the gondola before us got engaged on their ride! The evening tours are a little more intimate, and a little less warm without the beating afternoon sun – this and dinner would make a lovely anniversary, don’t you think?

Inspiration photo shoot this weekend!
We have been working diligently over the last few weeks to pull together an inspirational photo shoot for you! This Saturday we will be collecting all of the goodies, packing up the Jeep, and creating something that will *hopefully* inspire your wedding design.
A little inspiration for the photo shoot…

Inspiration Board: Ski Challet
Winter is almost over and spring is around the corner, so get in that last ski weekend and start to break out the pastel sweaters!
{ bed and breakfast | shoes | bouquet }
{ bridesmaids | wedding wishes | ski lift | bride and groom }
{ chandelier | invite | cake | bride }
The local Brides magazines have a feature on weddings inspired by children’s books – so if I were to equate this with a book it would be a wintry romance, or the wardrobe adventure of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
The inspiration for this board started with the top left photo of the bed and breakfast covered in snow. It just looks serene, making it picture perfect for wedding inspiration.
If snow will accompany your wedding day, soft hues of pastel pink, blue, and silver will accent the surroundings. With the color palette a 1920s vintage feel creates a depth to the decor that offers an almost swanky feel. Think feathers, sheath dresses, sleek hair, gin, and a live band. Sounds like a swinging good time!
And if you choose, make that 1920s with a modern ski lift…

Inspiration Board: Bold and Beautiful
Emerald green, navy blue, and bright pink make a bold and beautiful statement. For the right couple this can be quite a stunning backdrop for their wedding.
{ bouquet | invite | bride | guest book }
{ cake | bridesmaid | arrangement | groomsman }
{ program | venue }
My favorite elements:
- Mojitos – a tasty and naturally color-coordinated beverage!
- Pink peonies and navy dresses – the color literally pops off the screen
- Suits with bright boutonnieres – tuxes aren’t appropriate for every wedding, and in this case the suit is well dressed with a stylish tie
- Indoor venue – this color pallet is too often associated with outdoor, sea-side weddings. Be Bold – take this one inside!
Enjoy your Thursday! Friday!

Inspiration Board: English Garden
A garden wedding is so romantic. Thinking about it has brightened my Wednesday and hopefully it warms yours as well!
{ bride | cocktails }
{ wreath | escort cards | wreath }
{ bridesmaid | groom | cake }
If your wedding is outside it is easier to achieve this look, but if you are looking for garden accents for your indoor reception then try:
- Covering your escort card table with moss, then add a large urn with organically styled flowers
- Rod-iron accents like an arbor at the entrance to the reception
- Topiary centerpieces or mini topiaries as favors
- Floral wreaths at the doors of the ceremony or reception
- Laurel wreath or similar motif to your stationery
- Lavender sachets for favors
Any other ideas for achieving an indoor garden?
Cheers,
__Jessica
