Wishing you a Merry Christmas
We’re headed out of town to enjoy the Holidays with family, but before we go, we must wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And to the couples with upcoming weddings, we wish you the best weather you could hope for {whether that be sun, snow, or something in between}.
Inspiration Board: Ski Challet
Winter is almost over and spring is around the corner, so get in that last ski weekend and start to break out the pastel sweaters!
{ bed and breakfast | shoes | bouquet }
{ bridesmaids | wedding wishes | ski lift | bride and groom }
{ chandelier | invite | cake | bride }
The local Brides magazines have a feature on weddings inspired by children’s books – so if I were to equate this with a book it would be a wintry romance, or the wardrobe adventure of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
The inspiration for this board started with the top left photo of the bed and breakfast covered in snow. It just looks serene, making it picture perfect for wedding inspiration.
If snow will accompany your wedding day, soft hues of pastel pink, blue, and silver will accent the surroundings. With the color palette a 1920s vintage feel creates a depth to the decor that offers an almost swanky feel. Think feathers, sheath dresses, sleek hair, gin, and a live band. Sounds like a swinging good time!
And if you choose, make that 1920s with a modern ski lift…

Alpine Wedding / Winter Honeymoon
The winter Olympics are in full swing and are so inspirational! While watching the women’s skiing I heard that one of the German skiers is from Garmisch – a beautiful town just an hour from the Austrian border – and it made me think of what a fantastic destination it is!
A little town that is an absolute gem. So few people have heard about Garmisch that it truly is a fantastic find!

Stunning. I’m not an “outdoorsy” person but this is breathtaking.
Garmisch is a small village that sees its share of American tourists each year. It is quaint and quiet but in close proximity to Munich (2 hours by train) and only a short drive to every little girl’s dream, Neuschwanstein (the castle from which Sleeping Beauty’s castle was modeled).

This destination isn’t for everyone, but if you are looking into locations like Alaska this could be a great fit. Why? The scenery is amazing, the hotels are abundant and luxurious, every comfort is available, and for American service members (retired or active duty) the Edelweiss Resort is a government-run property made to host families on vacation.

Two years ago I visited Garmisch on business and fell in love. It didn’t hurt that I happened to visit over Oktoberfest… but that was just a bonus. The town reminds me of New England; in September the foliage was turning and all around you could feel the brisk fall air. From the cozy cafes in the valley you could see the snow falling in the mountains, almost as if two seasons were happening at once.

Gotta love a girl who sports white uggs!
Germany is a great location for a destination wedding or honeymoon vacation and offers every variety of activities, whether or not skiing is your (Olympic) sport.
Cheers,
