So you’ve seen the photos of our booth in a recent post, but these are the professional photos of what we had going on. Isn’t it great to have photographer friends! Tyra Bleek also presented at the Simply Elegant Wedding Expo and her booth was awesome. Thanks for the photos, Tyra!
In the coming week I’ll be visiting with the Sherborn Inn, Langham Boston Hotel, and the Ames Hotel. Keep an eye out for features on these great venues!
Until then, enjoy your weekend (and get some beach time in for me, please!).

Concept photo shoot – photos!!
This weekend we meet up with Tyra Bleek of Tyra Bleek Photography for a photo shoot and couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome! It took a bit of planning and designing to come up with the style, details, and decor but it was worth every moment.
How did this all begin? It started with about the most generic thought anyone could muster: “I would like to create a 1920s style photo shoot.” There was something appealing about the elegance and glamour of the time that is vintage but extravagant — even if vintage isn’t your style, the sophistication of the Roaring 20s has a certain appeal that can inspire even the most lavish weddings.
We employed a pink, black, white, and silver color palette. A blush pink table cloth with a black and white runner was the backdrop for the centerpiece display and table setting. After promising to take excellent care of the family silver, we took candelabras and trays from the hutch and started pulling the details together.
It was a true pleasure working with Tyra. She has an incredibly way of working with people so that even the most nervous grooms are comfortable being in front of her lens — the most important quality in a photographer (in my opinion). It means that in your wedding photos you will be the naturally beautiful, relaxed, smiling person that everyone loves. Add to this her eye for great shots, professionalism, and creativity and you have a great photographer on your hands (or in your wedding vendor list!).

Introducing our Interns!
As you can see by the author of yesterday’s post our blog has some new contributors … two fabulous interns! These ladies will be with us for the summer to learn more about weddings and planning, as well as to offer some of their thoughts on fabulous wedding details.
Jessica F.
Hey y’all my name is Jessica F.! I am from South Hamilton, Massachusetts and known to my family and friends as the “Northern Bell.” Currently, I am twenty-one and entering my final year of college {Praise the Lord!} I graduated from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School in 2007 and then headed down South to attend Lee University. I am a Communications major with a concentration in Public Relations, and I intend to become a Wedding Planner. Weddings are my passions. Like many, my favorite wedding moment to witness is the grooms’ reaction as he stands in awe of the first sight of his wife to be. When it comes to style, I deem that the more creative the wedding, the better. Nevertheless, there is always nothing more elegant than a simple, traditional wedding.
Abby
Hi my name is Abby and I will be a senior at Bucknell University in the fall. I am an English major and an Economics minor, but my true passions are wedding planning and makeup artistry. I am passionate about making people happy and I love to use my creative energy to do so. Weddings are especially fun because of the many creative and unique aspects that can be rearranged to suit any bride’s style. Two of my favorite current wedding trends are dinner-focused receptions and “the party dress.” More and more couples sets a great event mood by opting for a relaxing, formal dinner where friends and family can enjoy a carefully selected menu without other distractions.
Hope you are enjoying the summer. I know we are!

Event: Simply Elegant Platinum Wedding Expo – July 11th
We’re excited to announce that we will be participating in the July 11th Simply Elegant Platinum Wedding Expo!
I’m looking forward to seeing Vera Wang present her dresses in a New York runway-style fashion show. Her designs are classic, sophisticated, and beautifully understated. I wonder what she will bring to the show…
