Real Wedding: Lia and Gavin
After Lia and Gavin’s wedding I was itching to see images, so how thrilled was I to get an email from Ashley O’Dell! She has a bunch of images on her blog, but here are a few of my favorites… Check out her post for more!
{and to Lia and Gavin – hope you had a wonderful honeymoon. Travel safely, and I hope to see you in Boston soon!!}
{wedding} small business week: Sweet Lydias
For delicious favors, gifts, and holiday treats there is nothing like Sweet Lydia’s homemade s’mores! Without the campfire smoke from your usual s’more making experiences, these airy treats will melt only in your mouth (because they won’t last long in your hands).
The s’mores, s’more pretzels, and marshmallow are all fresh and delivered within just days. Paypal and GoogleCheckout allow you to shop now and have a delivery on your door within 2-5 days. Seasonal flavors this year are peppermint, raspberry, and caramel. Mmmm…

Highlight: we’re talking custom – the items listed on her website are there to pique your interest and satisfy your immediate sweet tooth. Lydia is best known for making personal touches to anything ordered. So let her know if you want a special ribbon, label, colored chocolate drizzle, or (with a little notice) one-of-a-kind marshmallow flavor.
A Turkey for your Thoughts
Helping others is our business – typically, that involves helping our couples plan their weddings. But around the holidays we take on an additional mission: helping local families enjoy the holidays.
This November we are proud to support the efforts of The Greater Boston Food Bank in providing turkeys for local families for Thanksgiving. In 2009 the Turkey Drive distributed just over 39,000 turkeys to families in Eastern Massachusetts, and they are working to provide even more this year.
But we need your help!
We’re calling it A Turkey for your Thoughts. Leave a comment on ANY of our blog postings this week. On Friday night we will tally up the comments and donate 1 turkey for ever 3 comments.
Take Action
- Start by leaving a comment here {it’s a great start}
- Share this with your friends {the more comments the merrier}
- Visit our blog daily to see what we have going on {and to leave additional comments}
- On Thanksgiving, have that warm, fuzzy feeling that other people are enjoying the same family drama you are
Bonus:
** We will be giving away a Starbucks gift card to one luck winner. A little something to keep you warm – now that’s something to smile about!
New England Fall, One of a Kind
We know from experience how stressful planning weddings can be. It can be hard to juggle work, responsibilities, family, friends, wedding plans, and sleeping all into one 24 hour day. Let’s not forget about spending some quality time with your other half. Despite this being a stressful time, it is also an exciting one. New England has a lot to offer, especially during fall. Here are some great ways to relax with your sweetheart. Take advantage of all that fall has to offer here in New England (and a little time out from talking about the wedding.)
Apple Picking
Take advantage of the orchards in New England and the nice crisp cool weather. Pick a bushel of apples, and don’t forget to taste some hot apple cider and perhaps a cider donut before you leave. When you get home you two can cook a warm apple pie or some apple crisp as a post-picking treat!
Pumpkin Picking
From the scent, to the taste, to jack-o-lanterns, nothing screams autumn like a bright orange pumpkin. Why not make a day of it and go pumpkin picking. Afterward if you are feeling artistic try carving your partners profile into your pumpkin.
Leaf Peeping
Fortunately for you, autumn in New England produces some of the most beautiful autumn foliage you will ever see. People travel miles just to look at the foliage. So, go for a stroll with that special someone and take in the beautiful autumn colors before the snow and wind take them away from us.
Hay Rides
Curl up under a blanket and ride around the orchards together. Fall is a beautiful season; enjoy it.
Corn Mazes
There’s something about getting lost together and having to depend on each other to get out. Give it a try, you will be surprised how much fun you have.
Couples Massage
Who couldn’t use a massage to ease some of that pre-nuptial tension? Take some time with your honey to relax with a couple’s massage; there’s nothing else like it!
Football Sunday
Not a football fan? Doesn’t matter your future husband is going to be watching it every Sunday from September through January from now until forever. Since it’s not going anywhere try to make the most of it. Might we suggest cooking a delicious dip and cuddling with your man in front of a toasty fire during game time? Who knows you might start to love football!
Hope you all have a wonderful fall. Remember this is an exciting time, don’t let the stress get the best of you. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We would love to hear what some of your favorite fall activities are!
Enjoy!

A special thanks to Joseph of Gondola di Venezia, Boston’s only gondola tours. It was not only a fun way to spend part of the afternoon, but it is a romantic experience. As it turns out the couple on the gondola before us got engaged on their ride! The evening tours are a little more intimate, and a little less warm without the beating afternoon sun – this and dinner would make a lovely anniversary, don’t you think?
