Real Wedding: Yuan and Tuoping
In late August we had the incredible pleasure of bringing Yuan and Tuoping’s wedding to life. They are so incredible together that I can’t wait to show you more of their wedding – in the mean time here is a sneak peek from the blog of k. Photographie!

Real Weddings: Kelli and Bernie
I was so fortunate to work with Kelli and Bernie and their October wedding. When we first met they had decided on the Airlie Center in Warrenton, VA for their ceremony and reception, but many of the other details were a bit hazy. They worked hard and with my help for day-of coordination they were able to enjoy the beautiful day.
Michael Clark and his assistant did a fantastic job capturing all kinds of little moments and details. He even set up at the reception a sideshow of the ceremony and cocktail images – the guests were captivated by his work and loved the instant gratification. For more great photos check out his blog. Thanks Michael, it was great working with you!
Kelli and her ladies were pampered by Molly and Charla at Salon Emage. Even the salon’s decor is stylish with the hanging parasols!
Bernie and his groomsmen took some time to wander around Airlie for a few photos. While this picture is a bit more serious, there are plenty of others where Bernie displays his more comical side. Brian from Karin’s Florist did the beautiful flowers and was great to work with. He and his team had lots to decorate and somehow got everything completed with plenty of time to spare!
Cherry Blossom String Quartet played music selected by Kelli and Bernie for the ceremony, which gave a nice ambiance to the garden. But when it came to the procession, these little guys stole the show. Two adorable “Bell Ringers” went down the aisle just before Kelli, and announced “The bride is coming! The bride is coming!”. It was my favorite detail and was a great way to involve the younger family members.
Kelli and Bernie have a connection to one of DC’s best concert venues so they incorporated this through personalized escort cards. In the cocktail space each couple found an escort ticket with “admission” into the reception. Very cute!
All of the details of Kelli and Bernie’s wedding came together to create a unified look and feel. From the cottage that felt like a country garden home to the manicured gardens for cocktail hour the entire wedding had an enchanted feel.
My favorite images! This beautiful flower girl was quiet most of the day (once we got her down the aisle…). You can tell from the look on her face that she is soaking in everything she sees. Of all the pictures of Kelli and Bernie this is my favorite – they are amongst the garden hedges and it just feels so serene.
Congratulations, Kelli and Bernie. I wish you both all the best for many years of happiness!
Cheers
