Real Wedding: Lia and Gavin
After Lia and Gavin’s wedding I was itching to see images, so how thrilled was I to get an email from Ashley O’Dell! She has a bunch of images on her blog, but here are a few of my favorites… Check out her post for more!
{and to Lia and Gavin – hope you had a wonderful honeymoon. Travel safely, and I hope to see you in Boston soon!!}
Color Inspiration: Navy and Lime
Today I woke up with colors dancing through my brain. Navy and green, in fact. I absolutely love this color combination because its simple, classic, and yet so youthful and fun. And, of course, it is just perfectly preppy!
Because of the classic feel of this combination, it is easy to add unique details, such as argyle or paisley accents. This works especially well with wedding party attire- give your guys awesome bow ties, or your ladies some adorable heels in these fun colors. For floral arrangements, green hydrangeas are a magnificent choice, but you can also incorporate apples, limes, and even pears for a different texture. These fruits can also make great escort cards!
However you choose to use them, you can never go wrong with such great colors!
For the Love of Summer: Finale
Yes, that’s right. Today will the last of my summer-inspired blog posts. But it will also be my very favorite. Today I am blogging photos from our most recent wedding!
Sara and Jason’s wedding took place on Chappaquiddick Island off the Cape and was truly everything a summer wedding should be: festive and fun, yet classic. Held on a private estate, the ceremony was in a clearing overlooking the ocean and the reception was in a big, beautiful tent. It was all absolutely stunning!
But nothing I say will actually capture the beauty of the day, so I will let you see for yourself. I hope that you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed sharing in the day!
Before walking up the long, winding, and picturesque driveway, guests were given a glass of champagne and a pair of flip flops to make the stroll more enjoyable! They were also led by a series of cheeky chalkboard signs made by the groom and his brothers.
For the Love of Summer: Part VIII
After days spent sweltering in the heat, it occurred to me that one of the greatest (and most satisfying) parts of summer is a cool drink of… well, you name it. Iced tea. Lemonade. Soda. Even water. And if you are planning to have an outdoor affair, you must be prepared to offer your guests some splendid, satisfying refreshment. Here are some great shots of unique and incredibly stylish beverage offerings. Take a sip!

For the Love of Summer: Part VI
Hello! Hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July! We certainly did and were reminded of one of our greatest summer past times (and great wedding inspiration, of course!): Picnics! We are not necessarily suggesting that you ask all of your guests to come sit on blankets in the outdoors (though of course you totally could!) but we think there are a great many elements from picnics that can be incorporated into your wedding to give it a summery, family oriented, and even very nostalgic feeling. Bon appétit!

For the Love of Summer: Part V
Today’s post is all about where I wish I was: the beach. Beach weddings are so much fun and you can incorporate so many other summer elements into a beach wedding. Even better, there is such a variety with the beach itself: you can focus on New England or tropical beaches, go with a calm bake or bonfire atmosphere, even have an incredibly fancy dinner right there on the sand. There are so many options, I collected a bit of a variety to hopefully spark some inspiration. Wish you (and I) were there!

For the Love of Summer: Part IV
After enjoying a beautiful and relaxing summer weekend, we are back with more summer inspiration! While buying fresh, organic strawberries at a farmer’s market this weekend, it struck me how fun and delicious it would be to incorporate strawberries (and other summer berries) into both your wedding menu and the overall decor. I absolutely love fresh strawberries in salads of both the fruit and lettuce varieties, and summer berries make for divine desserts: tarts, shortcakes, pies, you name it! You could do an entire dessert table of summer inspired delicacies! But the fun doesn’t have to stop there; you can include strawberries in your centerpieces, on your invitations, and even have mini jars of jam for escort cards or favors. Take a look at the delicious images below and just try to avoid a craving for something fresh and juicy!
These centerpieces look
good enough to eat!
